Al Franken is best known for his Emmy award winning work on Saturday NightLive. Saturday Night Live was his first steady job, which he began in 1974. Through the years, he wrote, acted, and produced for the show. His job with SNL ended after the 1994-95 season. One of his famous characters, Stuart Smally, lead him to new experiences outside of SNL. He co-wrote and starred in the movie, based on his SNL character, Stuart Saves His Family. He also wrote a book based on Stuart titled, “I’m Good Enough, I’m Smart Enough, and Doggone it, People Like Me.” Franken was the co-author of the movie, When a Man Loves a Woman, which is a very popular and well known movie, grossing millions of dollars over the years. Though, Franken is well known for his writing and acting abilities, he is mostly acknowledged for his political satire. John Podhoretz of the New York Post called him, “The man responsible for some of the most brilliant political satire of our time.” Al Franken was born in 1951in New York City.
