Her name is Kate Chopin and she is a very skilled writer whose emphasis is on the uniqueness and charm of a given region when writing. She often just left readers in a bit of confusion and disbelief at the end of her stories. In conclusion to reading "Ripe Figs," "The Storm," and "The Story of an Hour" I was amazed to find the amount of detail and extensive information the stories left lurking to the reader. "The Storm" was the story that just reached out and grasped my attention and kept my brain thinking like it's never thought before. It was like trying to solve a difficult math problem. Another great reason why "The Strom" should be taught in every classroom is by understanding this piece of writing it will help students in becoming better writers themselves. It is also open to new vocabulary that is not too difficult to understand unlike her other stories. It will make the students want to write like in Chopin's "The Storm" to try to leave their fellow students in a state of confusion and disbelief. This is excellent and is clearly what Chopin did in "The Storm" and what students should strive to do when they're writing. What students don't like are boring stories such as "Hamlet" and "Frankenstein." We want twists and turns in our stories making it fun to read and somewhat relatable to us as the readers. "The Storm" is a perfect way to do all these things with and for your students. It will only be beneficial.
