Throughout the years the percentage has been increasing and in the neat future, right through projects and unity we will see a change in the legal system. There are various of reasons why there is a lack of latin lawyers in the United States of America, it starts from the very beginning education. Our ancestors came from very poor countries to the United States of America, looking for better economy situations. For these reasons they tended to move to low income neighborhoods because this was all they were able to afford. Unfortunately most of the latinos have stayed in these neighborhoods, and raised their children in the low budget schools. These schools located in the low income neighborhoods do not offer the best education. Most of these schools are just concerned get them out of the system. The education that these students are not receiving does affect them especially when they decide to go to college. In the twenty first century we are seeing great changes with law schools reaching out to Hispanics applicants. A professor of the City University of New York School of Law, Jenny Rivera "attended New York University School of Law in the mid-1980's the only Hispanics she encountered were the defendants listed in the pages of her criminal law text book".(Rivkin, Victoria. 2000 pg.1). This was terrible to only encounter Hispanics under that circumstance. Now in the twenty first century little has changed the number of Hispanics attending law school in those years are about the same now.
