Why Not Kill a Mocking Bird
It takes many things to be a good father. Atticus does them all. Through out the story of To Kill a Mockingbird Atticus Finch shows himself to be an ideal role model for his children. Though he does not always succeed, he still tries to do all he can for his children. Atticus is a great. He does all he can to help his children with their problems, educate them, and provide them with well-rounded morals. Atticus tries to imbue his children with a good education. He taught them to read ahead of their time and, he pays to send them to school. However these two things conflicted when the children run into an interesting character named Miss Caroline. The children’s schoolteacher who is shocked to find out, on the first day of school, that Scout was fully literate. For some reason or another this annoyed Miss Caroline to the point that she asked for Atticus to stop helping Scout with her education. “Mrs. Caroline told me to tell my father not to teach me any more, it would interfere with my reading.” (Lee 17).
