There are various of reasons why there is a lack of latin lawyers in the United States of America, it starts from the very beginning education. Our ancestors came from very poor countries to the United States of America, looking for better economy situations. For these reasons they tended to move to low income neighborhoods because this was all they were able to afford. Unfortunately most of the latinos have stayed in these neighborhoods, and raised their children in the low budget schools.

These schools located in the low income neighborhoods do not offer the best education. Most of these schools are just concerned get them out of the system. The education that these students are not receiving does affect them especially when they decide to go to college. We could never compare the facilities that rich white kids receive to what the latin children receive in school. You will never find a library open till late in a latin or black neig

There has been research amongst the characteristics of Hispanic judges and white judges sentencing. Hispanic judges sentence white and Hispanics offender similarly, rather than white judges sentence Hispanics more harshly. The crimes for the defendants where very similar, the only difference was ethnicity. White judges are more assuasive to white offenders than to Hispanics. Anglos are not discriminating against Hispanic defenders they are favoring their own race.

Hispanic students feel more comfortable attending a school that has Hispanics in their student body, faculty and administration. Ileana M. Infante the education director for the Puerto Rican group who regularly meets with law students says, "Hispanics feel isolated at law schools because there are so few of them in the student body and even fewer among faculty and administration." In the 1999-2000 school year, only 5.7 percent of the law school student body nationwide were Hispanic, according to the American Bar Association. And the number of Hispanic attorneys is even lower: just 2.5 percent of the country's lawyers are Hispanic, according to the ABA.(Rivkin, Victoria. 2000 pg.1). The Bureau of the Census also projected that Hispanics are going to become the nations largest minority group by about the year two thousand and ten. We would also be the largest single population group by the end of the twenty second century.
