Atomic Bomb
The United Stated played a very important role in World War two. We were the reason for an allied win, and we also sparked the technological advancements in weaponry that lead to a lot of the superior technology that now exist. It was because of the passion that the United Stated had for developing and the recruiting skill of the United States, which was used to bring in a German Physicists; that a new war technology was given birth to and this was the atomic bomb. The atomic bomb is a weapon that is made of plutonium, which came from uranium (www.whistlestop.org). The atomic bomb was dropped on two Japanese cites by the names of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The bomb that was dropped on Hiroshima was called “Little Boy” and the force of it is estimated at 13,000 tons of TNT (www.whistlestop.org). The Nagasaki bomb named “Fat Man” had an estimated explosion power of 22,000 tons of TNT (http://history.acusd.edu/gen/20th/coldwar1.html). The estimated death count for these two bombs !is between 115,000 – 340,000.
