The United Stated played a very important role in World War two. We were the reason for an allied win, and we also sparked the technological advancements in weaponry that lead to a lot of the superior technology that now exist. It was because of the passion that the United Stated had for developing and the recruiting skill of the United States, which was used to bring in a German Physicists; that a new war technology was given birth to and this was the atomic bomb. The bomb that was dropped on Hiroshima was called "Little Boy" and the force of it is estimated at 13,000 tons of TNT (www.whistlestop.org).
