What does it mean to be a human? For centuries we as mortals have contemplated the question of what it means to be a human. So actually being able to define what it manes to be a human is an overwhelming task that may never be completed. There are so many different aspects that make a human what they are, and it is nearly inconceivable to describe what it means to be a human because humans are the most complicated creatures known to man both mentally and physically. Humans have the capability of distinguishing between ideas and impressions. Ideas are built up from thoughts, beliefs, and memories related to impressions. Ideas that follow simple impressions come from resemblance, contact, and cause and effect. Impressions are emotions and other vivid mental phenomena. For the most part, we understand matters of fact according to cause and effect, where a direct impression will lead us to gather some overlooked cause. Basically from a persons past observations and experiences they can make a prediction that something will happen due to that persons understanding of what has happened in the past.
