Pride and Prejudice
The title Pride and Prejudice holds a very significant meaning in the novel. Nearly all the characters in the novel have some sort of pride as well as some sort of prejudice. The reasons for their pride and prejudice vary from character to character, but they are common characteristics found in almost all the characters. I believe that both pride and prejudice are very common in the Bennett household. Mrs. Bennett is very biased towards Jane. Mrs. Bennett tells everybody how much more beautiful Jane is than any of the other girls. She assumes that Jane will have to make a good marriage in order to support herself as well as the rest of her daughters. Mrs. Bennett is also a very proud person. For example, she becomes very upset when Mr. Darcy will not dance with Elizabeth. She will not forgive him until the very end of the novel when Elizabeth marries him.
