The main character in this book was Alice. She was a fifteen-year-old girl who wanted to become a social worker when she grew up. Alice didn't have many friends, and she was very insecure about her body. She was seduced into a world of drugs. Go Ask Alice was written in the form of a diary. It was a true story about a teenage girl and her life while she was involved with drugs. The diary also brought the reader closer to Alice and it left you wondering why she killed herself, or what would of happened if she didn't kill herself and kept another dairy.
After Alice came home from the mental institution, she became completely sober.
