Feelings

In contrast to the times, when people like to open up, and share their feelings with others, there are times when people prefer to hide their feelings and keep others from knowing how they really feel, for rather moral or personal reasons, such as: not wanting to hurt others, being uncomfortable with expressing themselves, and not wanting other people feeling sorry for them, when viewing or being aware of their emotional state. One of the biggest reasons is that people are often afraid of the consequences. They don't want to be vulnerable, and prefer not sharing their intimate details about one self with others. Almost everyone experience feelings of being hurt, humiliated, threatened, angry, sad or used, at some point of their lives. When people prefer not to express themselves, they put on a fake smile, and hide their true feeling, when sense that they are being viewed.

Often people start having tendency to hide their feelings, when it comes to concern of other people's feelings. Obviously, in order for people to be liked, and bring out a good impression, they will want to avoid the state of hurting others, and also prevent any unpleasant situations. Often people feel that sharing their personal feelings, makes them vulnerable, which can lead to bad consequences. Many people don't want to be an open book for others. These people feel that by sharing their feelings, they are giving out their intimate details about them selves, which includes their weak spots. People want to prevent the state in which others will have a chance to use their weak spots against them. There are often times, when we see people feeling upset and used, because somebody took advantage of them. Once people start sharing their feelings, there are humans in this world who will obviously see that those people are weak, and will use the opportunity of the fact that it is easy to take advantage of them. There are individuals, who on another hand know their weak spots, and they hide their feelings and control their actions, in order not to get hurt.

People often prefer keeping their feelings within them selves, because they don't want others being aware of their emotional state. There are times, when some people might be dealing with situations like divorce, poverty, break up of relationship, or even death of a loved one. These unpleasant situations cause feelings of depression and sadness. Often people feel angry or guilty, but they want to show that they are strong, and can deal with their problems.
