Edgar Allan Poe is a famous writer who changed the style of writing for ever. All of his
works reflected his life and showed the type of person in which he really was. Through his
works, it is thought to reveal hidden aspects of his life. Poe suffered a troubled and
abusive upbringing through which he triumphed by becoming one of the greatest writers

works on his own life. From birth to death Poe suffered with Obsessive Compulsive
disorder. Eventually he became an alcoholic. He had severe medical problems that often
caused strange behavior and depression. These problems contributed to many of the
images reflected in his works. Poe is known for his tales of the grotesque and fantasy.
