Are School Uniforms the Solution? If school uniforms were required, would discipline increase or decrease in schools? Most countries throughout the world require students to wear school uniforms. The United States has one of the highest rates of lack of discipline and is one of the only countries that does not enforce school uniforms. Some private schools in the U.S have uniforms. Studies have shown that discipline in these schools is higher than in schools without uniforms. Would the same results occur if school uniforms were required into American public schools? Many Americans do not want to have a dress code or school uniforms because of the climate ,they say, it would not be fair on the students because of the intense heat during the summer time. In Australia, where the climate is a lot hotter than the U.S., the children are required to wear uniforms year round.
