Beer

For a variety of reasons the stability of demand for the products in the beer market has been declining in recent years. The focus now for the major breweries as well as Great Western is the constant development of a stable demand base. Due to the regulation of prices in the Canadian market the competition is centered around product differentiation. We are moving towards making this our main focus, as it is very difficult to manage the operation while demand faces such wide fluctuations.

Our company enjoyed initial success when we entered the Saskatchewan market. We believe it we will be able to experience this level of acceptance in two other markets within Western Canada. These two attractive markets are in Manitoba and in Alberta. The problem that we will face now is ensuring that we are able to create that new demand base in a similar fashion in these markets the way it was accomplished in our home market.

One area that we believe improvement is needed is our product differentiation; it is the key determinant of success in the Canadian beer market. We must still introduce new products into the smaller niche markets, which will in turn regenerate some of our New Product demand. It is also our goal to prove our reputation as a company that will be around for the long run and that we are not just some fad beer. To ensure this happens we intend to concentrate on creating strong coordination among our research and development, product development and marketing teams.

d into two larger markets this structure will require change. This change will lead to almost certain growth within the company and it is crucial that we have prepared an organizational structure that will grow along with us.

In the beer industry it is not uncommon that a product will realize great success during its inception in to the market. The real question is can it maintain a solid level of market share for a p
