Toward the third act the friar begins to think that the feelings between Romeo and Juliet might really be true love and begins to help them just to help them even thought he realizes that their love wont bring the warring families together. When Juliet came to him after Romeo had been exiled and made a show of trying to kill her self he came up with a rather unholy plan for her to fake her death and go live with Romeo.
