Native American folk art is an ancient tradition, different for each group of natives. Each group has a unique form of art, which varies from pottery to blankets. Native American folk art tends to serve a purpose unlike that familiar art forms derived Western European countries. The Native Americans who originated in the Southwest have unmatched styles. The Anasazi are an ancient group of Native Americans whose descendants are believed to be the Pueblo people. The Anasazi dwelled on the plateaus located around the four corners located in the Southwest. Their artistic contribution was pottery with complex designs. The Anasazi's painted pottery was used for ceremonies as well as practical uses. These pots became an important aesthetic medium and were produced in abundance.
