To Kill A Mocking Bird

Can a bird symbolize all social outcast?

Can a mocking bird really represent a society that is exiled during this period of time? For example Mr. Tom Robison who was nothing more than a black person who was in the wrong place at the wrong time be really punished for a crime that he really didn't commit! Can racist people do this without getting in trouble? In this book it shows the facts about living in a community who doesn't care about anything else other than the color of your skin. In this novel I asked myself these questions over and over again. I really couldn't understand why people had to be so swallow.

The reason that racism plays a big part in this book is because it wanted to show how stupid people were and how the African - Americans at that time were being treated like if they were nothing to the world. Thi


s book wanted to show the way that African-Americans were treated during this period of time. It had a person who represented the horrors of racism and it also had a character that was against being racist. This book shows very clearly the fact that the only people who did not like blacks, were poor and lived in trailers like rednecks! This novel shows the way that educated people like Atticus could look past the color of people and the look at only what the person is like inside. This novel shows the cruelty to black people and how not even in the courtroom they could be treated equal. This novel shows a lot of racism for a reason. The reason being that this book takes place in a town that allegedly has morals. In this town the people are racist but the upper class do get the idea that racism is bad and the people that hat
