Women: Liberated or Not
How would you feel when you are thousands of miles away from home in a foreign land as a guest. You have been living there for a while now and things look very good. But then suddenly a true sad event takes place for which you are not at all accountable, but the ignorant people think you are. While shopping at a local K-mart in the United States a Muslim women was confronted by a local who came up to her shouting and asked her to leave the country at once also asked her not to wear the veil, which mind you, she does because of her own belief. To top it all of this incident happens in front of the women's three young sons. The knowledge I hold of Islam is very limited, but I think I am able enough to speak and write about some of the major misconceptions about Islam in the western world. My reasoning and comments might not be exactly by the books, but still I think they are able to satisfy any rational person, who listens to my arguments as a human being instead of being just a Christian, Jew, Hindu etc. I would be shedding some light on the status of women in a current Islamic society.
