Government is one of the oldest human inventions. It was first created around the sixth century in Egypt and has been evolving ever since. The United States Government has not only borrowed its ideas from England but also from the rest of the world. The US Constitution sets a strong governmental structure at both the State and Federal level with three separate branches: Executive, Legislative, and Judicial. The Executive branch at the State level is remarkably similar to the Federal level. The Governor is the principle executive officer in each of the 50 States. They are always the central figure in State politics and often move on to serve in the US Congress or even become President.
