The suspense thriller Camp Fear by Carol Ellis is a compelling story who’s intricate plot, theme, characters, language and style make it an excellent read which you won’t be able to put down. Therefore because of these reasons this novel should definitely be included in the reading list for future year 11 students as it can relate to young adults and their problems.The plot in Camp Fear is very well devised and can be easily believed. The story is set in Camp Silverlake, a mountainous region in North America where young school children spend their summer holidays doing many nature orientated activities. Though holidays have not started yet and a group of counselors have arrived and must get the camp into good shape before any of the campers arrive. Unfortunately from the beginning they find out that there is something wrong. There’s a deep, dark fear some of the counselors share. The fear that their terrible secret will be discovered.
