Welfare
There are m any reasons why welfare doesn’t really work, and so solutions have been put forth. Workfare is a proposed solution that some argue is comparable to both U.S. slavery, (i.e. black slaves in American history) and Hitler’s reign. When these accusations were made, it was due to the fact that people who are involved in the workfare program are working for less money than they could get from welfare. They also must be away from home and their children, meaning that day-care is necessary. This winds up hurting the individuals more than helping because with the added day-care bills on top of a lower income, they cannot possibly get themselves out of poverty. Through the rest of this paper, I will show many pros and cons of the workfare program and add some ideas of my own on how welfare problems can be solved. It is believed that Adolf Hitler and welfare-workfare have extreme similar characteristics of one another. In 1934 through 1936, Nazi’s forbade industrial workers from getting hire paying jobs from their lower paying jobs without the government’s permission.
