The spoken as well as the written word, have extraordinary power. The word has the power to curse, to bless, and to do everything that lies between the two. The word also has the power to change the coarse of history. A very clear example of this is the situation we, the human race are in right now. A few men - at this very moment will change the world drastically and forever simply by speaking. The words that they choose to use hold in their grasp the lives of many and the future itself. Just as "God said "Let there be light!" and there was light," so man who was created in God's own image has that power to create (and destroy) with the Word. The best modifier that I can think for this comparison is this: If the word were a window, a pro would be a plain window with the clearest of glass as not to obstruct what lies beyond it, and poetry would be stained glass so that when light shines through it is a different kind of light than when it started.

There are two forms in which the word is written: On is in the form of poetry and the other is in the form of pros. Pros have very formal rules and organization matters, while this is not so true in poetry. Lines are really all that mater in terms of the structure of poetry. Poetry tends to be concentrated while often indirect, while pros must make sense at a glance and very to the pinot. Poetry conveys personal feeling and is subjective, while pros communicate information and are generally objective. If an image were the subject, a poem would show that image, while a pro would tell of it. Last but not least, poetry is music (or music is poetry). Today we see poetry the most through the music of our modern culture.
