An American Tragedy
A detailed Summary of An American Tragedy
On Tuesday September 11, 2001 America faced the largest attack on our soil in our illustrious history. A group of Islamic extremists with the intent to strike down American pride set out on a mission. These terrorist thought that by striking down the World Trade center, which is the symbol of America's financial dominance, and the Pentagon, which is the symbol of our national defense, that American's would be brought to their knees. These terrorists thought that such an attack would make us crumble, when in fact it has united us in a way that such a diverse group of people has never been united before. Their cowardly attack has fueled the patriotic fire that burns inside of every American.
One thing that these terrorists were trying to accomp

lish was to destroy America's pride. We are a nation that is filled with many great buildings, which provide a place for Americans to work in so that our economy stays in tact. These terrorists decided that they would strike down the most awesome display of that financial power. They were hoping that this would crush our pride and leave us weak. In the days following this attack Americans have already proved our power by showing them that we are not a nation merely of buildings. It has been made clear that our nation will rebound from these heinous attacks and will continue to be a financial superpower in the world.
Terrorism is a serious problem facing not only America, but also the entire world. We have a serious problem if our civilians can't go to work without
