Our church told us that we would be helping someone in need that had no money and no place to go. I pictured someone local who was having a hard time, but when I saw him for the first time I was shocked. He was tall, had a dark shade of skin, black hair, and spoke very little English. The first week was weird for me--it's not like I've never seen a foreigner before; I just never lived with one. I eventually returned to my normal routine, and became friends with our guest.
