Beowulf
The Anglo-Saxon ancestors of the English were delighted to hear their minstrels or poets. They sang of war and deeds of valor, of great heroes and chieftains. The Anglo-Saxons invaded the British Isles in the 5th and 6th centuries. Their songs told of the deeds of their hero Beowulf. In 700 the Anglo-Saxons first recorded ‘Beowulf”. At this time Vikings were still invading Europe The Myan people were still living. The writers of this time still wrote about great kingdoms with dragons and kings. The dragons would kill some of the king’s men and the king would then call in the heroes. In today’s society heroes still exist, but today’s heroes save of us from planes crashing like bombs.
