While Americans made the mistake of sending the Chinese goods that they did not use, the Chinese, for the most part, avoided that mistake by using some common sense.
Since Americans were ignorant to the needs of the Chinese, many products that were exported from the U.S. remained on Chinese shelves. It was quite foolish to send dietary supplements that require milk to a country that doesn't use dairy products and are lactose intolerant. Chinese people don't have the same discretionary funds that most American's do. They can't afford to spend the extra 60-cents on a Coke and therefore this is not a wise export f
