Man's Inhumanity to Man
“…then my knees bent and I jounced the limb.” In John Knowles’s novel, A Separate Peace, Gene’s jealousy of Phineas builds up to such an extreme level, that he releases all of it in that instance, and knocks him out of the tree. People’s emotions can cause them to do very inhumane acts. An example of this was when Gene knocks Finny out of the tree. Another example is how the war changes Leper.
