Weed: Why they do it, and what it does Mike opened the back door to his friend Joanna’s house, walked outside, and was greeted by six of his buddies who were all smoking weed. They asked him if he wanted to join the party, and, gladly accepting the invite, he sat on a bench and joined in the festivities by smoking the night away. These days, it is more of a commonplace amongst people in their late teens and early twenties. But it is not just this age group that smokes. People of all ages smoke, be it 50, or 13, there is someone out there smoking. Why do people do it? And what does it do to you? These are the two questions that this paper is intended to answer. Why do they smoke? This is a very valid question. But I can guarantee one thing. Whoever is asking it has never smoked before. For a first time smoker chances are that their reasons are going to be one of two things, or a combination of the two. It will most likely be curiosity, or peer-pressure.
