Walt Disney

When I was growing up I loved to watch cartoons. But I found

myself asking one question, who draws these amazing characters? My favorite

cartoons were Disney cartoons. Walt Disney was the best at what he did. His

early life and family helped him become the genius he was. Walt Disney was a

cartoonist and master of motion picture animation. He made the world fall in

love with a large-eared mouse, a scheming duck, and dozens of other animal

characters. As his career progressed he turned the making of full length

animated films into an art form. Walt Disney lived on the edge of tomorrow but

he dared to make his dreams come true.

Walt Disney was born on December 5, 1901 into a modest Chicago

household. His first name was taken from the congregational minister who

baptized him, his middle name was Elias after his father. Walt Disney's father

Elias Disney was a Canadian and of Anglo-Irish decent. Elias Disney had many

different jobs through his life. Disney's mother Flora Disney was a lively,

even tempered women. She would read the children stories and play games with

them. She cooked, cleaned, and made butter which she sold in town. Walt Disney

was the fourth of five children. He

Walt Disney didn't start school in Marline until he was almost seven years old. His dad wanted him to wait until his sister could attend school at the same time as him. He went to the Park School, about a mile away from his house, but only spent tow years there. He had to leave because his brothers, Hebert and Raymond, saved up enough money and ran away so he had to help on the farm. Roy Disney was eight years older than Walt and he didn't like working the farm; only him and Ruth Disney did. His father got typhoid fever from their water well, he was in poor health for years. Roy Disney couldn't run the farm himself and it was too small to support a family.

like chickens, pigeons, ducks, and pigs. He liked to work, even though caring

Walt Disney died in St. Joseph's Hospital directly across the street from Disney Studio in Burbank. He died immediately after an acute circulatory collapse, at the peak of his producing career. Walt Disney had things he had designed, like Epcot, that he didn't get to see built. He also didn't make it to see Disney World's opening in October 1971. He did lead a very exciting full life. All in all Walt Disney made his wildest dreams come true. He was a great man with a great vision; he had a heart like a child. Walt Disney created the parks and his cartoons not for the money, but for the child in all of us.

and he would draw animals on the farm and the fields around it. There was no

paper to spare in his household, so he sketched animals on toilet paper and
