Dear Mamma, Open Your Eyes
When I hear people say “you get wiser with age”, the hairs on the back of my neck start to tingle. Really, the older you get, the more ignorant you get to the changes the world is going through, and the more stubborn you get to accepting these changes when they are brought to your attention. What I find most offensive and bothersome about the adults that I’ve been exposed to is the way that they feel that their opinions about the world must be correct due to there ignorance. They don’t know any better, so they assume they are in the right. For example, my mother is a semi-conservative, British (which will tell you something right there), woman who was raised to have a stiff upper lip and to remain dignified and proper at all times. Her idea of good music is The Who, The Beatles, and other influential groups of her time.
