Personal computers were officially introduced just around 15 years ago and already changed our lives dramatically. People that were born around that time rely on computers a lot more than older generations. We use computers for just about everything like instant messaging, games, homework, music and e-mail; just to name a few. I think that advances in technology and, therefore, computers have mostly a positive effect on humans. They replace people's jobs and do them millions of times faster. We wouldn't be able to launch any spaceships if it wasn't for the computer helping humans control it. Homework and research would take hours to complete because you would have to look for different sources everywhere and now you just log onto the internet and all known encyclopedias are at your fingertips.

You can't have something good without a bad side to it. As many people are communicating over the internet, time slows down because of the speed of the internet. People are sending and receiving messages in split seconds. Technology and mainly cell phones are more intrusive because now you can be reached anywhere, there is no "getting away from it all" anymore, even when people go on a vacations they take their laptops with them. Computers are popping up everywhere these days and this has a bad side to it. The negative effects of computers are many but I think the positives outweigh the negative effects and, whatever you think, computers are here to stay and either help you or intrude and bother you.
