religion
Religion is a very important aspect in life. It is also one of the characteristics that describes who we are. Religion influences a lot of what we do. It also influences us on how to dress, act, and treat others. So it is safe to say that religion is a tool to help us know ourselves. The religions that will be described in this report are Christianity and Taoism. Both have been practiced for a long time, but also have their differences. Christianity basically started in 313 AD. This was a time when Christians started putting together their essential beliefs and practices. It was also a time when the Romans were persecuting the early Christians. After some years, the Roman Empire started to accept the development of the church and promoted building churches, monasteries, missions, efforts, and discussions. In 380 AD, Christianity became the official religion of the empire. In the Chinese language the word Tao means "way," showing a way of thought or life. Taoism was founded by a man name Lao Tzu. He started this philosophy around 221 BC- 220 AD. It started out as a cult in the Han dynasty. It was said that emperors of their cult preformed sacrifices to the furnace. Which would allow him to call on spiritual beings. The spi
Was gone He would send someone to help them. This someone was the Holy Spirit. It is the believer's helper, teacher, and a comforter. The Holy Spirit convicts us when we do wrong. He also guides us into the truth. The faith that the Holy Spirit was working among the believers forced the early Christians to broaden their understanding of God. The early believers concluded that He revealed Himself as the Creator, the Redeemer, and lastly the Spirit that preserved the church. The Holy Spirit, viewed by Christians is God's presence in the church. Jesus said, that after he Salvation to the believer is the very thing that Jesus died for. Salvation is the thing that allows us to go to heaven after we die. The believer can receive salvation. Its free and cannot be taken back. In John 3:16 of the New Testament, it states, that " For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son that whosoever believe in Him shall not parish but everlasting life." This is what salvation is all about. God brought Jesus into earth so that He may save us from bondage of sin. The Christians believe that God is Jesus or in other words, Jesus is one with God. God consists of three beings, which are God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. God the Father sent God the Son into earth so that Jesus would become the full and final revelation from God to all people. And of course to be the savior of all people. Some people believe that Lao- Tzu was the only man to write the most translated work in all the literature of China. His book "Tao- te Ching." The book is the earliest document in the history of Taoism.
