New England and the Chesapeake region were settled chiefly by Englishmen, yet the two regions could not have turned out any different. Virginia and surrounding colonies had it rough in settling the territories, bringing primarily men of a mature age. New Englanders were in search of a new home and brought families, women, and children with them. They also had fewer conflicts and signed plenty of documents dedicated to peace and prosperity, as opposed to their neighbors to the south. The similarities don't end here, however, they only multiply.
