Lance Armstrong is a hero and role model for people of all ages, but he appeals mostly to adults and cancer patients. Armstrong was a champion cyclist with a promising future when his world was struck by tragedy. At the age of 25, just after winning to important races in the cycling world, Armstrong was diagnosed with testicular cancer which had already spread to his lungs, abdomen, and brain. With only a 50/50 chance of survival, Armstrong was scared but determined to live. He underwent painful and aggressive forms of chemotherapy to beat the cancer. While the chemotherapy weakened his body beyond belief he never stopped training

. One year later the cancer was gone and Armstrong became an inspiration to cancer victims everywhere. After beating the cancer, Armstrong made one of the most memorable comebacks in the history of sports. He came back into the cycling world with unbelievable strength and determination. He went on to win The Tour de France, becoming only the second American to do so. Lance Armstrong proved that you can do anything you are determined to do.
