To Remarry or not to Remarry

Some people may say that a family that is split up and then put together again or with another family is not a true family but it is. There are many different types of families, divorced, stepfamilies, one-parent families, and so on. All in all they are just as much a family as any other.

A wife of a college professor wanted a divorce, so the week she left, he decided to do some research to find out what was happening to him. He went to the library looking for any advice from a book he could find; none helped him except for one. This book was a collection of essays by various sociologists. One of the essays was so close to what he was experiencing, he thought that is was a horoscope. The essay focused on middle-class Americans of the strait-arrow persuasion, likely to be good parents, all around good, parents but still divorced. That was what described him the best. In reading this essay he found that him and his wife had the same flaw that lead to the divorce, it was that they left each other

Stepfamilies are good for people in many ways. They help to reduce stress for all the members. The children in a stepfamily are less likely to repeat a grade than children in a one-parent family. The households are more relaxed, close and less tense or disorganized. Kay Paskey and Marylyn Ihinghertallman have identified nine different structurally distinct types of stepfamilies. Visitation by one of the parents and other events like that will vary in the identification of the types. One word of advice that we can give to parents that are considering remarriage are, do not marry just to find a father or mother for your children. Another word of advice is don't be afraid to get remarried because most remarriages will be a great help to the family. Also don't let family traditions from the mother or father get in the way of what is best for the family. There is no major or dominant gender for a stepfamily, both parents are equal because they come from different families. It is a challenge to get a stepfamily to work for the best,
