During the 1920’s, the automobile was the greatest symbol in the community and it led a new era in transportation. In those years, automobile became popular rapidly. The automobile registration had an explosion and reached from eight million to twenty-three million within a decade, right before the break out of the Great Economic Depression of October 29, 1929. The mass production and big amount sales of automobiles increased the mobility of the United States, and brought faster and easier transportation to the people. Before the mass production, cars had been a luxury for the wealthy. The arrival of World War I and the Great Depression led to a setback in the development of luxury cars. It was during this time that the great deluxe automobile gradually disappeared from the road. But the creation of the Ford Model "T" and the Ford assembly line changed all that. With the assembly line, cars rolled off the production belt in very large quantities, making manufacturing and sales less expensive, and the convenience of automobiles available to almost anyone.
