Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit, non-denominational Christian housing organization. This wonderful organization welcomes any volunteers that want to help build simple, decent, and affordable houses for those who are less fortunate. This organization was started because of major need for affordable housing. There are currently 30 million households in the U.S. with housing problems, 14.5 million households qualify for government aid, but yet only 4.1 million are actually receiving aid. In addition, there are 10.9 million individuals living in worst-case housing situations of which 3.6 million are children, 1.4 million are elderly, and 1.3 million are disabled adults.
Habitat for Humanity started in 1976 and since then has built more that 100,000

houses in more than 79 different countries, including around 30,000 houses in America alone. This wonderful organization was founded by Millard Fuller and his wife Linda Fuller.
