DVD vs VHS

Ever since their invention in the early 1900's, movies have affected society in several ways. Not only have they glamorized the trends of their respective time periods, but they have also set trends. A new facet of the film industry was introduced in the late 1970's - early 1980's, this of course was the VCR, the ability to take the in theater movie experience and bring it home. The large movie rental stores, like Blockbuster, carry DVD versions of many movies for rent just like VHS.

Another good feature that comes with most DVD movies is that the theatrical and Television movie trailers are included. These are what you see either on TV when a movie is coming out or what you see in the "Preview of Coming Attractions" before you see the movie in the theater. These are not the only extras though. Nowadays, most DVD's come jam-packed with director commentary, storyboards, deleted footage, etc. These tools make the movie experience more genuine for t
