Advance Placement European History- Syllabus1. Important historical figures during the High Middle Ages. 1. He was close enough to Rome and the Papacy that could get him and he was burned on the stake. 5. Henry II of England- Henry II was the first English justice. He created a common law for his land and set up the first judicial system with judges and juries. But, the system was in favor of him. 6.
