A detailed Summary of Sep 11th

September 11th, 2001 a day Americans will never forget, a day of mourning and sorrow. The time was approximately 9:10am on Tuesday morning. I was awaiting the arrival of my friend Michael at the Nassau Community fountain. We had the next 3 hours off and figured we would go get a bite to eat. Next to me there were two people talking, I couldn't help to overhear one of the boys say "The world trade center was just blown up, come here you can see some of the smoke". Well obviously not knowing this boy, and avoiding making a fool of my self I stayed put, and didn't follow him. I just stood there wondering if this kid was for real. My friend arrived and we headed to his car to begin our long off period.

When we got into the car I said "Mike, I heard the world trade center was blown up". He had the same initial response that I had; he said "bull shit, no way". I then recommended we tune into 660, they are always on top of the news. We were greeted with the first and scariest statement, "the world trade center has just collapsed, and this is absolute mayhem..."

Previous to our off period we planned to stop at Best Buy, so I could purchase a DVD. When we arrived there we headed straight over to the television area. One or two customer

After about 30 minutes or so at Best Buy, I finally purchased what I had gone there for. Then Michael and I headed over to the source mall, to get some pizza. I called some of my family members who lived and worked in the city to make sure they were all ok. After our completion of lunch we got back in the car, so we could come back to school and finish our day. The first thing we heard when we tuned back into 660 was "the second building has just clasped". At this point we were well aware of the other plane crashes, and how many thousands of lives were at stake.

This war is not over, it may actually never end. A war on terrorism... I'm terrified of what has happened, and what is to come. It seems as if the U.S. is loosing more followers and allies, what happens if we end up all alone, or if the result of all of this is the outcome of World War III? But what scares me most is chemical warfare... The recent events have me and millions of others worried. In the event of a bacteria bomb dropped in our water supply, or an anthrax bomb in the New York City subway system could kill millions of innocent Americans. We hope, we pray, we wait, and watch in fear. May the victims of September 11th rest in peace.
