Abortion: Pro-Choice
Abortion is one of the most controversial and hotly debated topics of this day and age. The reason for this surrounds the idea of whether the induced expulsion of the fetus is murder or rather in the interest of the mother. Pro-life activists debate that all life in the instant of its conception is innocent and deserves a chance at life. God chooses its time of life and death, not the mother. Pro-choice followers often argue in favor of science and the United States Constitutional Ninth Amendment, which holds freedom of choice sacred. The first patient is the mother, and she is the one who allows the pregnancy to happen or not. Personally, I am pro-choice; however, I am not pro-abortion. Yes, these facilities do exist, but the biological mother remains the mother, and they should have a choice of whether they want their own child to be delivered into the hands of another family or remain unborn until she is ready to care for it herself. Many pro-choice activists believe the mother has a right to an abortion if the means for supporting a child are simply not there. These lack of funds and attention will or may subject this child to malnutrition, neglect, abuse and/or trauma. Often, they are raised with the overwhelming feeling of being unwanted and rejected by their mother. Also, if the mother is a teenager, almost indefinitely her life will be completely altered, leaving her unable to live her life as a normal adolescent. Why subject the child or the mother to this?
