A detailed Summary of Goals

I have three main goals set for me to accomplish in the next four years. Hard work and perseverance will help me attain these goals.

First, I want to work towards a 3.0 GPA and maintain that GPA throughout my four years at the academy. To achieve this goal I know I will have to work very hard. I will have to do hours of homework, something I am not used to doing. My second goal is to graduate from the United States Merchant Marine Academy with a job in order that will set me for life. I would like this job to have great security, a high starting pay, and I would like the job to be fun for me. I don?t know what that job will be but I look forward to discovering it. I am sure as the years go on here at this academy I will find out what my dream job is and fulfill my goal. After getting my great job my final goal is to raise my social class level. I want to be known as one of those rich people that you know are rich just because of how they look. I don?t want to live in a small house like I did when I was growing up. I want to live in a mansion. The driveway should be so long leading up to my house that the house can not be seen from the front gates. I want to drive around in my very expensive luxury

My strengths of the three skills that I will have to use is definitely communication. I have great people skills so if there is ever a time when I need to talk to a company representative I am sure I will be able to get a job if it is based on an interview. My weakness is my speaking ability I freeze in front of a large group of people. I don?t like talking in public and it is almost frightening to me. That is going to be my biggest problem in making my goals become a reality. I feel as though this school is going to develop my speaking problem. Through all the presentations I am going to give for classes and for my sea projects I will develop my fear of speaking in public. Sea projects are a big deal and I will have to suck up my fear and spit out the information into a great presentation. Another way I am going to solve my speaking problem is running for regimental officer positions. That will force me to make speeches in front of other people such as the plebs, and with practice in speaking I will be better prepared for more public speeches.

In my first goal, writing, speaking, and communicating will all contribute to obtaining my goals. These skills will all influence my schoolwork. Using these skills I will get the 3.0 GPA I need to make it though this school and graduate in four years with a systems engineering degree. Communication is going to be the biggest
