Hockey Genius Scotty Bowman
Douglas Hunter, who wrote A Life in Hockey, says, "Elton John sings, but he can't carry a football an inch, let alone for vital yards. Emmitt Smith can. But he can't write a short story that ends with the snow falling softly upon the Bog of Allen and into the dark mutinous Shannon waves, falling faintly through the universe, upon all the living and the dead. James Joyce could do that. Scotty Bowman can do none of the above. Does this mean Bowman has no talent? No, the man's a genius." William Scott Bowman was born in Montreal Canada on November 16, 1933.
