Mrs. Ackerman explains that child abuse is not only committed out of anger, but also through frustration. "Some parents just can't handle it, and end up taking it out on their children," also said by Martha Ackerman. Anger is one of the main keys, but frustration is where the actions are taken. "Parents get angry and ticked if they can not get their children to be quiet and go to bed, so they try and find a way to shut them up." Anger and frustration are the two main elements of child abuse. Martha Ackerman has witnessed a few cases of child abuse while working at Parkwood Pediatrics.
