There are several ways to stop this tragedy from happening in our communities. The first is to teach our children what guns are and what guns can do. Gun safety advocates preach that children should know gun safety at a young age. The advocates say that there are four rules that children should use when they see a gun: STOP!; DON'T TOUCH; LEAVE THE AREA; TELL AN ADULT. If a child does these steps successfully it would cut accidental shootings by 30%.
