Education in South Africa
"Nonwhites in South Africa outnumber the whites by 6 to 1, ...but the Black States comprise 13 percent of the country’s geographical area." (2) This is just one of countless examples of how Apartheid has deprived blacks in South Africa of their natural rights. Apartheid has had a major impact on the school system in South Africa. The black children of the ghetto townships have little chance of education and most can’t even read. One example of how Apartheid degrades the education of black South African children is the less than adequate education offered in black school. Poor education in tribal schools determines the future of black South African children because they are being oppressed into inferiority, because they will not be able to become successful, and because they will not be as powerful when they are uneducated.
