No Social Security, Only Dream

Seventy-five people died, and many of them were children. It was all due to the lack of safety at the stadium where the game was taking place. The soccer game, unfortunately, had to be cancelled. This is the bad side of soccer, as it pertains to the substandard stadiums in the poor countries where soccer is most popular. It is in poor Mexico where soccer is them most popular sport, and it may even be the most popular sport in the world. But why do people love this simple sport so much? Soccer in Mexico reflects the people's values and wishes concerning the success of a family after battling a great opponent. Mexican culture places a great emphasis on people to work as a family, as do soccer teams, and when the team reaches its "goal", the whole family can rejoice in happiness and satisfaction.

The official game of soccer allows for a maximum of eleven players on each team. However, there can only be a minimum of seven players on either team for the game to continue. The rules of the game stress that the team consist of many people to be eligible for a game. When the world cup is at its final game, families gather around the television set to


The players act as a family when they are on the field. One player cannot carry out a goal by himself, even if he is the best soccer player in the world. The players have to constantly keep passing the ball to one another in order to advance efficiently towards their opponent's goal. If one player tries to do everything by himself, the eleven opponents from the other team will overwhelm him. The total of twenty-two players on the field makes it hard for anyone to score a goal, so each team must work together in order to win. It is very difficult to score a goal, so when this happens; the fans and the players go wild. The announcer screams "gooooal" for as long as he possibly can to show the emotion that he is going through. The players run, do jumps, flips, and hug each other when they score a goal. Some of them even cry when they realize what they have just done. They show what a family would do when one of its members achieved a very important milestone in their lives.
