If you were asked to explain the romantic period, how would you describe it? Beautiful? Lovely? Well to be honest, the romantic period is far from beautiful. It was often times very dark and mysterious. Edgar Allen Poe, Nathaniel Hawthorne, and Washington Irving are just a few of the gothic (and often times strange) individuals that wrote during the romantic period. But first, what makes a good story that would fit in the romantic period? Well to explain it in its simplest form, you just need detail.
