The book I read was Arnold Schwarzenegger written by Daniel Bial.
Arnold was very dedicated to bodybuilding. He once broke a window at the gym to workout on a Sunday, and conditions there were so harsh that more than once his hands froze to the weight bars. Arnold has great perseverance, at his first Mr. Universe contest, Arnold finished second. He was the audience favorite but the judges felt his legs need work. Arnold took the criticism to heart. The next time he went to the gym, he cut his trousers off above the knee. He wanted everyone there to make fun of his legs so that he would work harder on that part of his body. Weider kept Arnold focused in school, training and in bodybuilding competitions.
Arnold was always willing to represent and advertise for fitness and good health. In the 1990, President Bush rewarded Arnold by naming him chairman of the President's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports. Arnold visited all fifty states at his own expense to spread the message to kids on fitness and sports.
The author wrote a very factual biography on Arnold. On pg. 12 of the book the author writes a direct quote from Arnolds book on his childhood with his father.
