Vincent

V When I first of this assignment I had a tuff time, trying to find out who or what I was going top write on. I consider myself some what of an artist. But I don't draw skecthes or paint masterpeices. Im a writer, Im like most other artsist that paint. instead of seeing and images from my head and paint them on my canvis. I take my emotions, put them in words and in my own type of canvis creating my version of a materpeice. I wanted to pick an artist that was like me in a way, one that I could mostly relate to. When I was in seventh grade, I took french 1. We covered a lot of there culturethe majority of it was. We came across a mans life that to me will always be a legacy. His name was Vincent vanGogh. Vincent van Gogh was seen as a failure in his lifetime which lead to various mental disorders and ultimately suicide, but today he is viewed as the foremost representative of postimpressionist art. Unable to conform to normal life, Vincent turned to art to passionately express his feelings. His style of choppy brush strokes of amazing colors was looked down upon by other artist of his time but with support from his brother, Theo, Vincent lived his dream of becoming an artist. Although he enjoyed painting

These mental illnesses took toll on Vincent psychologically. After a fight with his friend Gaugin, Van Gogh went back to his house and cut off the lower part of his left ear with a razorblade. O.k you couldnt pay me to do this, imscared of getting my ear piereced. Vincent sliced his whole bottum ear of. Van Gogh began having hallucinations of strange sounds and people trying to poison him. After the ear incident and these hallucinations, Van Gogh realized he was mentally insane and should send himself to a mental hospital at Saint Paul-de-Mansole. Inside, Vincent was suffering. Van Gogh was deeply hurt by failure and rejection. Van Gogh left the mental institute after a few months, and on July 27, 1890, shoots himself in the chest in his house. It turned out that he even failed at suicide. He shot himself in the chect with a 22 callaber riffle. Causing him a slow painful and aganizing death .He died two days later with Theo at his side. Today, Theo remains by his side, both being buried in the cemetery of Anvers.Though seen as a failure in life, Vincent van Gogh is seen today not as a crazed artist, but as a revolutionary in the principles of postimpressionistic art by the use of brilliant colors. In such a short artistic career, Van Gogh produced some of the most moving, and inspirational art of all time and is indeed an accomplished artist. Vincent van Gogh has finally achieved his dream of becoming a famous, well respected artist. The reason I guess why I was so fasinated with this mans life at the time, I was just like him. For the past couple years I found myslef in a hole with no way out. I suffered from depresion due to faluier in my ly life. I didnt like where my life was, and who I was becoming. But in a way I did nothing to change it because I thought my destiny was to fail. There was no other path to chose, thinking it was only going to get worse if I tried to make things better. That why I started writing in the first place. It was sort of a cry for help, hoping that someone would feel my pain. Maybe then bye someone feeling sorry for me I would get some comfurt. I contenued this for several years, sharing my sorrow and pain with others thriving off of the attention. By doing this I sank lower and lower into my depresion. I to, went to my brother for advise, and some form of encouragement. This went on for years, after a while it started to scare myself. Slowly and slowly I was losing my reasons to go on living. It seemed as one thing would get better another three bad things would happen, and when I lost my family the scale was tipping. It wasn't till recently a friend of mine did something for me that no one had done before.
