After the ear incident and these hallucinations, Van Gogh realized he was mentally insane and should send himself to a mental hospital at Saint Paul-de-Mansole. Inside, Vincent was suffering. Vincent van Gogh has finally achieved his dream of becoming a famous, well respected artist. The reason I guess why I was so fasinated with this mans life at the time, I was just like him. For the past couple years I found myslef in a hole with no way out. I suffered from depresion due to faluier in my ly life. I didnt like where my life was, and who I was becoming. But in a way I did nothing to change it because I thought my destiny was to fail. There was no other path to chose, thinking it was only going to get worse if I tried to make things better. That why I started writing in the first place. It was sort of a cry for help, hoping that someone would feel my pain. Maybe then bye someone feeling sorry for me I would get some comfurt. I contenued this for several years, sharing my sorrow and pain with others thriving off of the attention. By doing this I sank lower and lower into my depresion. I to, went to my brother for advise, and some form of encouragement. This went on for years, after a while it started to scare myself. Slowly and slowly I was losing my reasons to go on living. It seemed as one thing would get better another three bad things would happen, and when I lost my family the scale was tipping. It wasn't till recently a friend of mine did something for me that no one had done before. "Vincent van Gogh." Biography Jan. 1999: 120. Academic Searc
