Communication With the 21st Ce
I am going to come right out and explain what the point of this essay is all about. Imagine that! Being open and honest from the beginning. I can't even ponder how many relationships could have been saved, or, maybe even never started if people were just outright honest and open with their significant other. I am writing this essay after reading numerous books and excerpts on relationships, as well as listening to radio shows to the likes of Tom Leikus and the John and Jeff Show. These two show discuss relationships and how to handle women. Basically, many people would call Tom Leikus a sexist pig, but he does have many interesting and many times true views when it comes to the habits and the minds of women. John and Jeff talk more about the male and female blunders as well as many other social issues surrounding the U.S. community. I want to focus on the woman's mind from a man's point of view because I am a man and I want to reach out to my fellow slaves of the 21st century. Males and females are completely different creatures, especially when it comes to communicating with each other. The biggest things that distinguish a man and a woman are the voicing of opinions, views on attention, and views on roles in the relati
Five guys are carpooling to work in the morning. Even though there are five guys in the car and they all enjoy each other's company, it's early in the morning and they are all relaxing, listening to the radio. They don't need to be talking to enjoy each other's company. Now, let's throw a woman into the mix. A guy and his girlfriend are driving to work early in the morning and nothing is being said. What does the woman assume? Well, that's obvious. There is a problem. In reality there is no problem, but by asking what's wrong and by persisting that there is a problem, she creates one. This is another form of communication that men and women have a hard time dealing with at times. "Just say what you want for God's sake!" This thought alone has to cloud the man's mind more than any other thought. Well, maybe not sex, but that's a totally different subject. A key difference between the communication between a man and a woman is the voicing of an opinion or problem. I like to think that men come right out and say what's on their minds. If they want a beer, they say, "Honey, can you get me a beer?" The woman would say something like, "Gosh it's hot in here" or "Honey, are you thirsty?" Every man wants the woman to just say what is on her mind because if she doesn't say what's on her mind, then it's all going to come out right before bedtime. She expects the couple to be on such an emotionally connected level, that they can read each other's minds. Things like this usually come out at the end of the day or the end of a relationship. It's kind of sad how events like these are just small communication errors that can be perceived wrong and hurt people. These little things
